After a day out \u2013 on a sled, snowshoes, or with the dogs by the fjord \u2013 there’s hardly anything better than a warm meal. And because it’s important to us that you eat well and honestly here, we consciously don’t make it easy for ourselves when it comes to food. <\/p>\n\n

We buy our reindeer meat directly from local reindeer herders, and the moose meat comes from hunters in our valley. You can hardly get shorter supply chains. The classics on our table are halibut, reindeer, and moose; we usually also have moose soup, sometimes reindeer soup. In the garden, we grow various ingredients for our teas. <\/p>\n\n

And then there are the berries. Blueberries, raspberries, and cloudberries \u2013 the orange-colored multer, whose season here begins at the end of July \u2013 we pick by hand. Some of them later end up in our muffins. In autumn, cranberries are added. <\/p>\n\n

Every year is different: This time, the raspberries in our valley ripened significantly later, and there were far fewer than in the two previous years. Still, we managed to gather a few bowls. <\/p>\n\n

And the dogs? They also eat warm food on tour, and we prepare their meals together with our guests: The frozen meat is first chopped into small pieces and then mixed with hot water to create a warm meat soup. <\/p>\n\n

It’s work, of course. But for us, it’s part of what makes this place special: food that comes from here, from a landscape that you experience yourself on our tours<\/a>.
